August 28, 2007, Cincinnati, Ohio – HGC Construction has recently completed the $1.4 million renovation of the 4th floor at Summit Country Day School. Renovations included the demolition of several walls to reconfigure the floor plan and allow for new classroom space, guidance and resources space, administration offices and a new restroom.
Special attention was given to maintain as much of the original woodwork and architecture as possible and the original wood floors were refinished. Modifications were made to the existing heating system to incorporate air conditioning and the electrical/data systems were upgraded to allow for the schools technology requirements. Several areas of the roof were also replaced or repaired to eliminate leaks and prolong the life of the school.
The architect for the project was Steed Hammond Paul.
