Kilgour School

The groundbreaking ceremony for Kilgour School held on Wednesday, December 13, 2006 marked the start of a full renovation to the existing building and the construction of a 23,630-square-foot addition. When completed in Spring 2008, the completed facility will accomodate 450 students.

The new addition behind the existing building will hold a gymnasium and a two-story classroom wing. A new sunken courtyard area will bring natural light into the basement-level lunchroom and create a plaza entrance into the new gym. A new driveway entrance off Herschel Avenue will provide vehicle turn-around space and lead to a student drop-off area, and, a new 31-space parking lot will be added.

Kilgour's renovation and addition will be respectful of the 83-year-old building's architecture, keeping the existing white-pillared facade and duplicating the building's red brick and arched windows on the addition.
